Ethernet Doesn’t Have A Valid Ip Configuration? Here’s The Solution To That Problem!
The IP address of a device is what helps the device identify itself within a network. At times there are situations when the Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration in Windows 10 shows an error. Below mentioned are some steps that you can take to avoid this error.
Solution 1- Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration? Try Rebooting your device.
Sometimes it does not show a valid IP configuration instead shows an error due to the fast startup feature. You can fix this by rebooting your system. The steps to do so are mentioned below.
Step 1- Press windows+S keys on the keyboard at once and enter the control panel. now choose the option of the control panel from the list of results shown in front of your screen.
Step 2- Select the function of power options from the control panel.
Step 3- A screen with multiple functions appears in front of you. On the left panel click on the option that states choose what the power button does.
Step 4- Select the options stating change settings that are currently unavailable and uncheck the box just decide to turn on the fast startup window.
Step 5- Save the changes by clicking on the save changes option.
Step 6- Reboot your device and see whether the problem is solved or not.
Solution 2- Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration? Try checking the network adapter settings.
Sometimes rebooting your device doesn’t work. New have the opportunity to assign a specific IP address manually to your device. The steps to do so are mentioned below.
Step 1- Click on the windows and R key together on your keyboard to open a run dialogue box.
Step 2- Now type ncpa. cpl in the box and hit enter to execute the prompt.
Step 3- In the list of functions right-click on your network adaptor in the section of the network connections window and then select the function of properties.
Step 4- Ethernet Properties> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties.
Step 5- Check the following options:
- i) Obtain an IP address automatically
- ii) Obtain DNS server address automatically.
Step 6- Click on ok and reboot your device.
Solution 3- Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration? Try restarting the router.
After following the above-mentioned steps turn off your router or modem and try turning it back on in 5 minutes. Now check if your PC has a valid IP configuration or not.
If your PC has an invalid configuration of the IP address then the above solutions have worked but, if it does not work try connecting your router and your PC using an alternative ethernet cable.
If this also does not work then you will have to use a different router, and connect your router to it. Even if all these things don’t work out then there is an issue with your network card regarding which you will have to perform a factory restore or replace it.

Step 1- Click on the windows and R key together on your keyboard to open a run dialogue box.
Step 2- Now type hdwwz.cpl in the box and hit enter to execute the prompt.
Step 3- Expand the function of network adaptors present on your screen amongst various other functions, and then right-click on the options stating your Ethernet card and choose the function of uninstall the device from the drop-down menu.
Step 4- Click on uninstall as the dialogue box appears.
Step 5- Now reinstall your network adapter.
