Vector Gets A New Chief Financial Officer—Stephanie Koster
Stephanie Koster has been hired as CFO by Vector, who previously worked at SNC and Blue Origin in the same capacity. She will lead the company’s business and finance operations. She was recruited in March, as per Koster’s LinkedIn profile.
She was senior VP for finance for about a year in SNC. Before that, she was at Bezos’ Blue Origin, overseeing finances as treasurer and director. Jim Cantrell stated that they were heading into a fully operational stage. Since Stephanie has experience in this domain, she would be an asset to the company. Her track record of having helped the world largest aerospace firms cement their financial strategies would be vital in matching up to Vector’s aggressive goals for the future.
Vector has had a remarkable growth streak in the smallsat industry, positioning it among the leaders, said Koster. It is currently developing small-sized launch vehicles. Vector-R is currently under development that can place around 50 kg in low-altitude Earth orbit. However, only a few test flights have been carried out by the company so far. Another suborbital flight is to be deployed for testing this summer, stated Greg Orndorff, who is VP for Sales to government at Vector. He said this at the NHS ISDC meeting.
No dates were given about the actual launch attempt though. However, the company’s statement on June 12 did state that a successful orbital launch would be the company’s prime focus from PSCA this year. Orndorff advised interested observers to stay tuned in for more details regarding the company.
A Series B funding round was finished during October 2018 for $70 million. Till date, the company has received over $103 million in investments from various quarters. Koster stated that she looked forward to growing with the company as it marched ahead. The company also indicated in another version of its statement that an IPO could be in the offing soon.
