Auto X Mulls To Be More Than Just Deliver Groceries
The car manufacturers are still in the process of testing self driving cars. While for many, this is a new idea, Auto X is trying to find different ways in which an autonomous car can be used. They are a startup company.
In 2018, Auto X had launched a grocery delivery pilot program. It was implemented in San Jose of California. The company has an application named AutoX. People can use this app to order fresh food items and other household products. AutoX will be delivering the ordered stuff on a driverless vehicle. According to Jianxiong Xiao, who is Yes CEO at AutoX, the organization aims to use autonomous vehicles in delivery, transportation and logistics. He referred this initiative as utilization of Artificial Intelligence.
He said these cars can carry both goods and human beings. The company is not choosing which segment to serve but is just providing an Artificial Intelligence platform which will power all these driverless vehicles. As per the data from Crunchbase, the company has already pulled up $43 million as funds. This also includes an investment made by Dongfeng Motor Group, China.
AutoX informed that they have the proprietorship right to a unique technology. This advanced AI platform can identify obstacles on the road, come with several sensors which can help process information and calculate distance correctly. The strategy of the company is to sell this technology in the form of a license. The car making companies can use it to develop autonomous vehicles.
Xiao also informed that he feels that using Internet in the right way can assist the companies in making their traditional businesses better. The AutoXself-driving car concept is a bit different from the one which is being tested by Uber and Waymo. Last year, Waymo (which is a part of Alphabet) launched Auto our ride sharing facility but only for commercial purpose. This launch was in the United States.
