A Mobile Pension App to Be Launched By the Government for Its Retiring Staff
A mobile app will be rolled out for the employees of Central Government who are about to retire. This is basically launched to assist them to keep a track of their pension settlement cases’ progress. They will also be enabled to evaluate their superannuation funds and register grievances, if any, via the pension calculator.
Already, for this purpose, the ministry has a pensioners’ portal. All the services intended for the pensioners will be extended through the mobile app to the mobile handset, which is at present obtainable on the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare’s portal. A superannuating central government employee, with this app, will be able to track the progress of his/her pension settlement, whereas the retired employees will be enabled to check or assess the information of their pension amounts via the pension calculator and also record grievances & receive notifications on orders released by the department.
Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions will launch the app. Apart from this, the pensioners will be awarded for their outstanding offerings toward “Anubhav,” which is an interface for retiring officials in order to share their experiences on functioning with the government. Further, a workshop is scheduled—to assist government pensioners—on pre-retirement counseling of around 300 Central Government officials who are about to retire.
The release stated that the intent of this workshop is to generate attentiveness regarding the post-retirement entitlements and also to assist them in planning for life after superannuation. There will be 4 interactive sessions that will include among other things medical facilities available for pensioners, a roadmap to superannuation, and re-appointment of retired individuals for voluntary social activities.
In addition, there will be a conference on Income Tax and other advantages for senior citizens & financial planning and investment for retired individuals and the significance of scripting a will, according to the release. In this program, the pension department will roll out the first of runs of pension adalats that pursue to bring together a distressed pensioner, CGHS or a bank representative, & the department concerned, wherever appropriate, so that such cases can be resolved across the table in the agenda of regulations.
In total, 17 pensioners will be awarded the “Anubhav Awards 2017.” The Anubhav program was introduced on the command of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who fortified retired or retiring officials to share their experiences while functioning with the government to generate institutional wealth for the management for forthcoming governance and motivate the imminent generations of management officials.
