Lopez Orador Wins Mexico Election As Public Voted for Change
Mexico’s presidential elections are won by Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on July 1, 2018. The preliminary results showed the outcome significantly in favor of a leftist well-known politician. He had represented himself as person to bring change in the political scenario and society.
If nation’s electoral commissions are to be believed, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is said to have earned 53% of the total votes. This figure exceeds the double of the overall votes secured by the opposition candidate.
On winning the election, the current President, Lopez Obrador, well-known by his initials AMLO, stated proudly in a gathering of crowd of his supporters in Mexico City that the opposition has recognized the victory of his party then.
The former President Enrique Peña Nieto asked for Lopez Obrador to congratulate him on the victory and promised to support him in taking forward the orderly transition. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is decided to take charge from December 1 onwards.
Lopez Obrador had won the polls with a lead of 20 points more than his rivals. After mere two hours of closing the polls, three of his opposition competitors accepted their defeat already.
He stated in his speech that the act of migration should be a person’s choice and not compulsion or an imposition. He also gave a word to strengthen the market by producing the products that they consume, within the nation itself. This would make his countrymen contended and happy and won’t make them leave the nation and live among their own people, customs and cultures.
Lopez Obrador also talked about dealing with corruption strongly, along with violence. He as well hinted that it all is an outcome of deteriorating political conditions. He firmly stated that corruption is the major cause behind violence, economic inequality and social inequality in the country.
